Sean P. Connolly
Sean Connolly is a public affairs consultant in Harrisburg. His firm, Connolly Communications LLC, assists a variety of businesses and associations with their public relations and government relations needs. Connolly, who started out as a journalist, served eight years as the Press Secretary for the Pennsylvania Attorney General. He is a Board Member of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and Vinny’s Kids, a non-profit organization that purchases toys and games for hospitalized children. Connolly also serves as an advisory member of Dress for Success of Central Pennsylvania, as a committee member of Catholic Charities and as a member of the Non-Profit Advisory Board for Graystone Bank.
Joseph M. Geiger
Joseph Geiger brings more than thirty-two years experience in the fields of education, human resources and nonprofit and association management. Geiger was born and raised in Lancaster County.
Before coming to serve as the Executive Director of PANO in January of 1995 he was a consultant for Organizational Effectiveness Group in Princeton, NJ and Campaign Associates in King of Prussia, PA. He also served as the Executive Director of the Keystone State Head Injury Foundation, various executive positions with the YMCA and a consultant/researcher for the YMCA of the USA, Valley Forge, PA. Mr. Geiger chaired the Ethics Committee for the National Head Injury Foundation State Associations. Joe was a secondary education social studies teacher for eight years.
Mr. Geiger earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. He graduated from Columbia University’s Business School for Not-for-Profit Management. Joe was certified by the American Society of Association Executives as a Certified Association Executive.
Mr. Geiger has delivered programs on the role of charities in the public policy process, change, feasibility, shared vision, team building, strategic planning and more, to organizations throughout the nonprofit community. He facilitates the Charities Build Communities Coalition, comprised of the 175 charities that forged the passage of Act 55. He is currently serving as a consultant in the area of public policy for the Alliance of YMCAs throughout Pennsylvania.
Geiger currently sits on the following Boards: Dusquene University, School of Leadership and Professional Advancement’s Central Pennsylvania Advisory Board, Lincoln Institute, President of the First Nonprofit Unemployment Board, First Nonprofit Insurance Company Board, First Nonprofit Insurance Company Board Education Foundation Board, and the Bloomsburg University International Alumni Advisory Committee.
Virginia Henning
Virginia Henning is the Executive Director of the Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society. She has served in executive management of the Foundation for nearly 14 years. Virginia holds a CPA license in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Prior to her association with the Foundation, Virginia worked in public accounting as an audit and accounting manager with a nonprofit concentration.
Virginia is currently serving on the boards of the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) and the Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance. She is past President of the Junior League of Harrisburg and an active volunteer for the Harrisburg Symphony Society and the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg.
David R. Kreider
David Kreider, CPA has been Vice President, Finance and Administration for the Chamber since January of 2002. Prior to joining the Chamber, Dave served in various financial capacities with Lancaster General Health System including Vice President, Finance at Brandywine Hospital; Corporate Compliance Officer for the Health System from 1998-2001. Dave also served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Hospice of Lancaster County in 1996 and 1997. Prior to that, he held various financial positions with Lancaster General from 1984-1995 and with Peat Marwick from 1982-1984.
Dave is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of York College of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of CPA’s, as well as the Healthcare Financial Management Association and Society for Human Resource Management.
Currently Mr. Kreider serves as Board President of Accessing Independence, a subsidiary of United Disabilities Services in Lancaster, PA; and is a member of the Finance Committee of the Lancaster County Community Foundation. Dave is also very active in youth sports in the Millersville, PA area; and has served as a coach for the past ten years.
Previously Dave has served on a number of nonprofit boards; and was awarded the Pennsylvania Institute of CPA’s 1995 Distinguished Public Service Award for Community Service, and the Benjamin Rush Award from the lancaster County Medical Society for his work in improving the Health of Lancaster County. Dave resides in millersville, PA, with his wife and two sons.
Steven L. Moskowitz
Steven Moskowitz is a graduate of Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Michigan. He began his adult working career with Oldsmobile Division, GMC and had a variety of different positions within the company in the service field. Upon leaving GM he became Service Director for a large Oldsmobile and Honda dealership in Indiana.
During Steve’s tenure at the dealership he became the General Manager and eventually bought the dealerships. Classic Oldsmobile and Honda in Merrillville, Indiana, was a consistent award winner for both customer satisfaction and sales performance. The team at Classic was ranked in the Top 100 in sales for many years and also had the distinction of being number one in the country at one time.
As a dealer, Moskowitz was elected to represent his fellow 3,000 Oldsmobile dealers in a variety of capacities. He served several terms on the National Dealer Council and Oldsmobile Board of Governance. He also served on numerous national committees. He was elected to the highest dealer/factory board in General Motors, the GM Dealer Policy Board. Steve also was President of the Chicagoland Honda Dealers Association for many years.
As part of his outside activities Steve served on advisory boards for Indiana University Northwest, IVY Tech and Ferris State University. He also was Executive Director for Indiana Sports Charities, Chairman of the Chicago White Sox Charity Golf Outings and a member of Chicago Baseball Cancer Charities. All of these charities raised money for children’s cancer research.
Gerald W. Meck
Gerald Meck is the Chief Executive Officer of United Disabilities Services. He has 37 years of human service management experience including 23 years with United Disabilities Services.
Prior to his association with United Disabilities Services, Mr. Meck provided executive leadership for several health-related, residential and church-sponsored non-profit organizations located in Pennsylvania and new York City. This experience included supervision of program departments, financial management, board development, program development, evaluation, and strategic planning.
Utilizing his extensive knowledge and experience in the human service industry, Mr. Meck has assessed needs, identified and mobilized resources, and evaluated the performance of personnel, enabling four different organizations to be quality services providers. He has enabled United Disabilities Services to grow from a several hundred thousand dollar operation to a 16 million dollars annual operating budget providing a network of 12 different community-based programs in 30 Commonwealth counties.
United Disabilities Services has been recognized as one of Pennsylvania’s most innovation organizations by the Central Penn Business Journal and has received certification as a Medical Assistance Provider.
Mr. Meck is a charter member of Disabilities Services Provider of America, and is a member of the National Ethics Standards Committee for Standards for Excellence Institute, Baltimore, MD. He is a board member of Lancaster disAbled for Change and Justice, Accessing Independence, and UCO of PA. He presently serves on the PA Department of Public Welfare Service System Redesign Task Force.
Mr. Meck received his M.Ed. Degree from Millersville University, Lancaster, PA, attended the Management Institute at Columbia University, NYC, and has a Sociology and Psychology degree for Eastern Mennonite University Harrisonburg, VA.
